"Buckskin" (2021) takes place in 1820s Texas. Former fur trapper and now cook Wesley Porter (Tom Zembrod) is forced to take on one last mission from his stern former captain, Kevin Coleman (Robert Keith). He's sent deep into the ominous Buckskin Woods — a forest believed to be cursed after a brutal attack by a native tribe that left 17 trappers dead, including Coleman's grandson, young Levi (Blaze Freeman).
Haunted by the loss of his own children to fever and by his bloody past, Porter ventures into the dangerous wilderness to find Levi and bring him back alive. Along the way, he faces deadly traps, moral dilemmas, hostile encounters with natives, and his own inner demons — guilt, anger, and fear.
As his journey unfolds, Porter is tested physically and emotionally, ultimately confronting themes of redemption, fatherhood, and the high cost of freedom. The tense finale leaves viewers reflecting on moral choices and survival.
