Psychologist Dr. James Fonda is recruited by the military for a top-secret, high-stakes assessment of Ellie, a young girl possessing extraordinary intelligence who is being held in a high-tech facility. As Fonda attempts to psychoanalyze the brilliant but volatile child, he engages in a tense battle of wits to understand her condition. However, he soon discovers that Ellie possesses terrifying supernatural abilities and that her captors have issued a kill order if he fails to break through to her. The session transforms into a desperate race against time as Fonda tries to save the girl from execution while surviving her deadly powers.
