In “Shein Village”, factories run at extreme speed, relying on 300,000 migrant workers who deal with long hours, heavy pressure, and unpredictable workloads.

⚡ How Fast Does Shein Move?
- 👗 A design can go from concept to production in as little as 72 hours
- 🛍 Shein releases anywhere from 2,000 to over 10,000 new styles daily

🧵 Different Jobs, Same Pressure
Workers handle different stages of the process, often on staggered schedules:
- 🧶 Sewing: the heart of production, usually end around midnight
- 📦 Finishing: trimming threads, steaming, and prepping garments, often working as late as 1 to 2 AM

⚖ No easy choice
- 🏭 For factories, intense competition and razor-thin profits make piece-rate pay almost unavoidable.
- 🧑‍🏭🪡🧵For many workers, the work can be demanding, but alternatives are limited. If factories shut down, many could face even greater uncertainty and fewer opportunities.

- They reflect a broader, systemic issue within the industry—where speed, low costs, and flexibility often come at the expense of long working hours and limited social protection.
